LCGOP Passes Resolution

At the August monthly meeting on August 13th, the Laramie County Republican Party Central Committee passed a resolution with overwhelming support. The resolution took a stance in support of the Bylaws of the Wyoming Republican Party and aimed to protect the voters of Laramie County. After great discussion, the final adopted resolution reads as follows:

"Whereas, the 2018 Bylaws of the Wyoming Republican Party specifically outline the national delegate selection process and the proper way of amending the process; and

Whereas, pursuant to Wyoming state law, only the delegates duly elected to the State Convention have the power and duty to make changes to the governing documents of the Wyoming Republican Party regarding the method of selecting delegates and alternates to the National Convention; and

Whereas, specifically W.S. 22-4-118(a)(v)(C) states that the State Convention has the power and duty to formulate or change the rules governing the internal organizations of the party, which rules must include “the method of selecting delegates and alternates to the national convention;”

Be it resolved, that the Laramie County Republican Party does not support a change to the national delegate selection process that goes against the Bylaws of the Wyoming Republican Party, which can only be changed at State Convention. Any change done outside the state convention to the method of selection of national delegates is a direct violation of state law.

Respectfully Submitted, Laramie County Republican Party"
